WEB 2.0...

The world economy is entering into a serious recline. For every 1 person who votes for a democratic party there are 3 who couldn't be bothered. A Democratic country can't A tag cloud (constructed by Markus Angermeier) presenting some of the themes of Web 2.0.function as a democracy if the system is boycotted. Worldwide there is serious doubt in everyone's mind about the future of life as we know it. Politics, Ethics, and Authorship, as we have come to know is on the way out.
Web 2.0, just hit the scene.

With new concepts such as Blogging, Wikis, Tagging, and Social networking fresh on everyones lips, and anthropologists worldwide with absolutely no answer to the inexplicable success of Web 2.0, there is no wonder there are those few optimists among us.

Wikipedia, (the free encyclopedia) is one of the biggest successes to date of Web 2.0. In a survey done recently pitting the most trusted encyclopedia of the last century, Encyclopedia Britannica, against the community created, Wikipedia. According to the review, its apples vs oranges. One of the most incredible feats of our age. With no thanks to the American government.

Web 2.0 boasts even more important features though. The concept of anyone being able to Publish is the second big revolution in intellectualism of all time. Back in 1943 the printing press was invented by Johannes Gensfleisch zur Laden zum Gutenberg (c. 1398 – February 3, 1468). Gutenberg's printing press enabled the wo/man in the street to read. Everyone who wanted to be was exposed to some of the great ideas of their time. It caused the average person to think at a deeper level than ever before. Web 2.0 does far better.

Web 2.0 enables anyone to publish. This has put so much power in the hands of anyone who choses to write. I can tell you what I THINK. No longer is it only big companies or power mad countries that dictate to me how I should think. Whatever I read, I can now process in my head and put it back with my own understanding of it. I am a part of the web. The web now functions much like a brain everytime I forge a link or write something I teach the web an idea. A blog is created every half a second. The web is a dynamic representation of... US!!! Not South Africa or China or even... the USA. It is anyone who wants to be a part of it. There is no censorship on the web... You are what you think! Anyone can be a part of it... Everyone needs to be a part of it.

Web 2.0 extends across all ages and both sexes...
Web 2.0 users share and participate, without privacy concerns...

Web 2.0 users rely on information from ANYONE...
Web 2.0 has already reached a critical mass – WE must now adapt to the new paradigm
